It’s now just called Vogue Magazine. She paved the way for black women in fashion, and the future supermodels like Naomi and Tyra. Beverly Johnson’s successful modeling career lead the way to acting. She appear in several successful movies as well as numerous television appearances over the years. Most recently Johnson served for two seasons as a celebrity judge on the TV Land series, She’s Got the Look, a reality series where women over the age of 35 compete for a modeling contract and magazine spread. The New York Times named Beverly Johnson one of the 20th century’s most influential people in fashion.
In the 1990s Beverly Johnson, partnered with company Amekor and started the Beverly Johnson Wigs Collection. And in 2010, she introduced a line of restorative and styling hair care products at Target stores.
