Adhesive manufacturers typically make solvents specified for their particular adhesives, but you can usually use solvents across adhesive brands. Many of these solvents are emollient based, softening up the glue for easier removal while being gentle on your skin.
If a particular wig accessories brand is not giving you the results you want… before you spend money on something else, you should ask yourself a couple of questions:
* Did you apply the adhesives exactly as the manufacturer’s instructions?
Adhesives differ in their properties and should be used as directed for their effectiveness. This is very important! For example, Some adhesives require the product to first get tacky, and sticky, before applying the wig. While some adhesive require you to put on the lace right away. So if you don’t use it as directed, you won’t get the expected results.
* Is your skin and unit clean and free of oils and residue?
This is very understandable. If the wig itself has residue and is not clean then the bond won’t be as good. And, of course, you should make sure the skin area where the adhesive will be is cleaned and dry! Oils break down the effectiveness of your bond.
